As you already know if you follow us on Social Media, we will reopen our facilities in September.

But to make that “back to school” fun and safe for our little ones, we will take all health and safety measures.

To reopen, our daycare in Vaughan, will follow all health and safety protocols according to The Ministry of Education.

The criteria are below:

• Create a COVID-19 (coronavirus) response plan: All child care and early years settings must have a plan in place if a child, parent, staff member or child care provider is exposed to COVID-19.
• Practice physical distancing: Children and staff or providers must stay in group sizes outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 and should not mix with other groups of children.
• Use a mask: We recommend that you use a mask. We will release specific guidance in the coming days.
• Screen for Symptoms: Everyone must be screened before they enter the child care and early years setting. Anyone feeling unwell must stay home. Home child care providers feeling unwell cannot offer service.
• Log daily attendance: Child care and early years providers must keep daily records of everyone entering the child care and early years setting. This will help support contact tracing.
• Clean frequently: Child care and early years providers must thoroughly clean the space, toys and equipment frequently and regularly, according to public health advice.
• No non-essential visitors: Non-essential visitors are not allowed to enter the child care and early years setting.
• Create child care drop-off and pick-up protocols: Child care providers must establish drop-off and pick-up protocols that facilitate physical distancing.

The Ministry of Education developed these criteria in partnership with:

• The Ministry of Health
• The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development
• Health Canada, to support the reopening of child care and child and family programs in First Nations communities
• Service system managers and other child care sector partners.
