The situation that we fear today is something that we will hardly erase from our minds. We have never experienced a pandemic that will affect us in this way, forcing us to change our daily habits and make it a global situation.
At this point, almost no one escapes the confinement imposed in most countries as a preventive measure and this has significantly marketed a before and after. Closed schools, teleworking, no leisure… we all fear that to a greater or lesser extent we will adapt our lives to this new situation.
I want to talk to you about one of the biggest challenges we face in this confinement, food. It may seem simple, but it is very important because the way we eat these days, affects positively or negatively to our day to day.
We understand that many of us see food as an escape route, a way out of the routine, a way to enjoy. But we must be vigilant and avoid compulsive eating or unhealthy foods.

Our children, not having school and therefore spacious places to run and play, spend much less energy than usual and risk suffering anxiety, sedentarism … and that leads to bad eating habits.
For this reason, it is important to prevent and transform these days into opportunities to learn and why not even improve your diet.
Quarantine can be a good time to learn as a family, to cook together, to incorporate new flavors into the children’s diet and to eat together, something that is usually not possible with work and school routines.
Incorporate more fruits. This is one of the foods that we often find difficult for children to incorporate into their daily diet, but it is nutritionally important.
These days it can be difficult to buy, but we can choose those fruits that endure a lot, such as natural pineapple in cans without sugar, frozen red fruits, oranges, tangerines, apples.
Yes, we can offer, but not force, and that when we offer, they are healthy choices.
The hydration. Don’t forget that a good nutrition also part of the quality of hydration we give our body to fulfill various functions at the level of our cells.
Avoid sugary soft drinks and juices, the ideal way to hydrate yourself is with water, if you don’t feel like it much you can add a little taste by adding a few slices of oranges, herbs, lemon, whatever you like. To complement, we can also help us by consuming foods that have more water content such as cucumber, carrot, orange.
Nor can we forget the physical activity which, although limited by space for many, is about offering healthy alternatives that help to burn off some energy and avoid being on the couch. Family games, choreography, watching yoga videos and basic exercises on YouTube.
